Exceptional 20th Century Triangular Deep Orange and Yellow Art Pottery Ashtray from c.1960, hand produced, original sticker to the underside "Hand made in Italy A 265".
We are offering this exquisite vintage 20th Century Modernist Italian studio art pottery ashtray dating from c.1960. The ceramic ashtray features a compounded three-sided shape with a wide ledge. The ashtray is hand-painted in yellow and orange with a deep glossy glaze. The striking minimalist sculptural design is reminiscent of Marcello Cuneo, Franco Bettonica, Angelo Mangiarotti, Ettore Sottsass, Enzo Bioli and Cari Zalloni ceramics from the period. The ashtray measures approximately 6.25" length by 5.5" width by 1.5" depth. This ashtray was acquired from the original owners and was previously maintained and displayed with great care. The ashtray is in excellent condition with no damages. The ashtray has the original sticker to the base "hand made in Italy A 265" (see last photo). Beautiful as a standalone Italian decorative arts object in a larger Mid-Century pottery or ceramics collection. All photos are of the actual item for auction. Good luck to all bidders.
