Description
This 6-gram jar of Nye PG-44A synthetic hydrocarbon grease is packed by Berger Sciences. To be clear, this is the heaviest grease you’ll ever encounter in your lifetime. It’s
extremely stiff, silica soap thickened, heavy viscosity, synthetic hydrocarbon grease and is intended for applications requiring a very high-degree of mechanical damping.
It’s made from a synthetic-hydrocarbon-blend of polybutene and silica oils.
This grease is commonly used on binocular focusing heads/systems and has proved popular with self build light aircraft enthusiasts to combat nose wheel shimmy issues on landing; also used as an assembly aid where this kind of viscosity product is suitable.
FYI, I have to package each jar by hand, which is very time consuming. This grease is extremely tick and difficult to work with but it performs well in very heavy load conditions.

Here's a real testimonial from an ebay user:
I disassembled my two Bogen tripod heads and thoroughly cleaned them and then applied the fresh grease. Absolutely fantastic results. I can mount a 14 pound camera/lens combo, completely loosen the tilt handle and watch as the 90 degree tilt now takes about 20 seconds to complete rather than an abrupt forward slam. The pan motion is completely smooth with zero jerking. My old 0 heads now feel like a 0 head.
Turns out that the PG-44A was exactly the proper grease for my tripod heads.
