This is a very high quality new flag pin. Shiny gold-tone metal with red, white, and blue enamel.
The flag has the regulation thirteen stripes and fifty stars. The border of the flag simulates gold fringe with the die struck ridges around it. Very striking for a lapel or hat pin.
This is not the cheap flimsy metal pins with the wobbly backs that you see advertised for low prices (cheap) for a large lot.  It also is not a cheap-o pin that is just a metal flag shape with a paper flag sticker pasted on.
The pin is nicely manufactured and "hefty"; about the thickness of a United States nickel coin. This pin IS LARGER THAN THE 3/4-inch pins that are also listed for less.
The clutch back is strong and fits tight. It comes in its own cellophane envelope.
The pin is "cloisonné" effect; the pins are die-struck and then enamel coloring is applied by hand.  The color sits lower than the raised metal lines giving the pin a textured look and feel, creating the flag's design.
No epoxy coating is included on top--the resulting effect is brighter and dressier than with the epoxy "cap".
You will see that this pin is one of the best grade you can find for the price.
